Helping us create more moments that matter
At Memories Dementia Café, we believe that everyone living with dementia deserves friendship, companionship and the opportunity to remain part of their community.
Every Thursday, our Café brings together people living with dementia, their families and carers for an afternoon of conversation, music, activities and friendship.
For some, it is an opportunity to reconnect with others. For others, it offers a welcome change from the challenges of everyday life.
For everyone, our aim is the same: to create a place where people feel welcomed, valued and supported.
Our Café is completely free to attend. With your help, we can keep it that way.
Free to attend | £8 per person
It costs Memories Dementia Café approximately £8 per person to provide one afternoon at the Café.
This is an average cost, covering the food, heating and building rental that help us provide a warm, welcoming environment.
The actual cost varies from week to week, but the difference your support makes remains the same.
We never charge our visitors to attend because we believe that financial circumstances should not prevent anyone from enjoying the companionship and community support our Café provides.
| Your Donation | The Difference It Could Make |

Living with dementia can bring significant changes, not only for the person with the diagnosis but also for their family and those who care for them.
Opportunities for social interaction, meaningful activities and community connection can become increasingly important.
At Memories, we see the value of these experiences every week.
We see friendships developing, conversations flowing, familiar songs bringing back memories and people enjoying the simple pleasure of spending time together.
Our Café is about much more than refreshments and entertainment.
It is about belonging.
It is about helping people maintain connections with the world around them.
And it is about reminding families that they do not have to face the challenges of dementia alone.
Your support helps us continue creating these moments.
Memories Dementia Café has already become a valued part of our local community.
But we believe there is an opportunity to do more.
Our ambition is to introduce a second weekly Café session, giving more people living with dementia and their carers the opportunity to enjoy friendship, activities and support.
To make this possible, we also hope to establish a part-time Café Coordinator position.
This would provide the dedicated time needed to organise activities, coordinate volunteers, build partnerships, manage administration and develop the funding required to sustain our work.
£30,000
We are seeking to raise £30,000 to support the next stage of Memories Dementia Café’s development.
This funding would help us:
Our plans for expansion are dependent upon securing sufficient funding, volunteers and other necessary resources.
With the support of our community and local businesses, we hope to turn this ambition into reality.
We believe that businesses have an important role to play in supporting the communities in which they operate.
By supporting Memories Dementia Café, your organisation can help provide meaningful experiences for people living with dementia and their carers.
We welcome conversations with businesses interested in providing financial support, sponsoring Café activities or contributing equipment and professional expertise.
Corporate contributions can help us maintain our existing services and develop new opportunities for the people who rely on them.
Where appropriate and mutually agreed, we would be delighted to recognise the generosity of our corporate supporters through our website, social media and community communications.
We are particularly interested in building lasting relationships with organisations that share our commitment to community wellbeing.
If your business would like to help us make a difference, we would love to hear from you.

Financial contributions are invaluable, but there are many other ways to help.
Our volunteers are at the heart of Memories Dementia Café.
Whether helping with activities, welcoming visitors or supporting the day-to-day running of the Café, volunteers make an enormous contribution.
Businesses and individuals may be able to support our work by providing equipment, supplies, entertainment or professional services.
Practical contributions can help us reduce operating costs and improve the experience of our visitors.
We are also working towards developing our website into a valuable source of information for people living with dementia and their carers.
By connecting with healthcare services, community organisations and other dementia support providers, we hope to make it easier for families to find the information and assistance they need.
Every week, we see how much a welcoming environment, a friendly conversation and an afternoon of companionship can mean to someone affected by dementia.
These are simple things, but their value can be immeasurable.
With your support, we can continue providing these experiences, strengthen our community and work towards welcoming even more people in the future.
Together, we can help ensure that nobody affected by dementia has to face the journey alone.
